Appointments

We are now open on Tuesday evenings (late night surgery) for patients that work  and are unable to attend the surgery during the day. Please contact the surgery to make an appointment.

The Gables Surgery is continually looking at ways to improve the appointment system. A new system  commenced on 1st  May 2009. See the practice news on the home page of this website for details of the changes. 

The Appointment System

The surgery operates a system called "Advanced Access".  This enables patients to:

1. See a doctor the same day
2. Book an appointment for the next day
3. Pre-book appointments up to a week in advance
4. Get telephone advice from a GP or Nurse

To book an appointment

Please telephone the surgery after 10.00 a.m. to make an appointment to see the doctor. 
Our telephone lines are open from 8am until 12.30 pm and from 1.30 pm until 6pm, Monday to Friday (and from 6.30pm until 9.00pm Tuesday )

To pre-book an appointment

This works on a rolling rota basis.  You can book an appointment a week in advance.  It is the right of the patient to express a preference of practitioner and we will make a note of this in your records

Home Visits

Please note that  home visit is at the discretion of the doctor on duty.  Home visits are for patients who are house bound or too ill to go out.  Otherwise please try and attend the surgery.  You cannot choose which doctor will visit.

Unwell Children
Your child will nearly always be seen as soon as possible if brought to the surgery - this will be quicker than a home visit.  If in doubt about bringing the child out, please telephone the surgery and a doctor can advise
